CULTURAL HUB:ONE HOUSE FOR ALL

The city is facing many challenges such as environmental threats, increasing social and economic challenges and polarization of its inhabitants. We need space to establish a connection between the city and its citizens. The studio task is to design a multifunctional cultural hub with flexible and adaptable spaces that can accommodate a wide range of cultural events, exhibitions, performances, and workshops that acts as a central point for the community. It is expected to serve as a space where individuals can acquire knowledge, foster collaboration, and immerse themselves in a mixture of cultural experiences. It will be questioned how creation of space can contribute to bringing community with education, art and creation together within a building. The design proposals should establish an open, urban meeting place which should be a cultural destination for the city. The project site is located in Alsancak, İzmir near to the Alsancak port. Total site area is approximately 5000 m2. According to this information, I have designed a cultural hub in Alsancak that I want to turn into a landmark.
